Route for Access Road at New Mon Repos Housing Scheme Being Explored

The Ministry of Housing and Water is exploring routes to construct an access road for the new housing development in Martyrs Ville, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.

A $19.4 M contract for the upgrading of the water distribution network in the village of St. Ignatius has been handed to Romesh Kissoon of R. Kissoon Contracting Services. Minister of Housing and Water, the Hon. Collin D Croal on Sunday evening handed over the contract to Mr. Kissoon while a copy was also presented to the Village Toshao Mr. Wilson Laurentino.

The water systems in Hiowa, Quarrie, and Moco Moco will be up for a needs assessment in the wake of flooding in these and other villages in Central Rupununi. Minister of Housing and Water, the Hon. Collin D Croal on Saturday, held community meetings in these three villages where he was provided with information relating to the impact of the flooding situation.
