Route for Access Road at New Mon Repos Housing Scheme Being Explored

The Ministry of Housing and Water is exploring routes to construct an access road for the new housing development in Martyrs Ville, Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara.
On Thursday, Hon. Collin D Croal, Minister of Housing and Water visited the proposed site, as part of an assessment of the area.

Minister Croal and an engineer attached to the Central Housing and Planning Authority assess the area

Minister Croal stated that the new road is aimed at providing alternative access to lands for persons who were recently allotted through the Ministry’s housing drive. The new thoroughfare is also geared at reducing and/or preventing traffic congestion and reducing commute time within the Agriculture Road, Mon Repos area, once completed. Infrastructure works are simultaneously being executed in the housing scheme to allow the new landowners to begin construction as soon as possible.
