$225M in COVID-19 Grants Distributed to Cushion Economic Fallout in Moruca

Through the leadership of His. Excellency, Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, some 27 Amerindian communities in the Moruca sub-district of Region One (Barima-Waini) are now in receipt of the Ministry of Amerindian Affairs’ one-off COVID-19 village grant from the COVID-19 Relief Fund.

The grants totaling $225 million were presented by Minister of Housing and Water, Hon. Collin D Croal, who also holds parliamentary responsibility for Region One. Read More

Collin D Croal, along with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of CH&PA, Mr. Sherwyn Greaves, today updated residents in Herstelling, Little Diamond, Farm and other surrounding communities on a number of plans to be executed in the 2021 work programme, during an outreach at the Farm Neighborhood Democratic Council (NDC) compound.

… Over 2000 Essequibo Coast residents attended to by Housing officials

Residents of villages along the Essequibo Coast, Pomeroon/Supernaam Reg. 2 have lauded the efforts of the Ministry of Housing and Water- Central Housing and Planning Authority as they commenced works to revamp the operating systems in the region. On Monday a team led by Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Sherwyn Greaves initiated a plan of action with three massive public meetings at central points along the Essequibo Coast. The meetings were held at the Charity Secondary School, State House Anna Regina, and at Suddie Primary School, where scores of persons turned out to benefit from all services offered by the housing authority.
