𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭 – Allottees of a new land development at Phase Two Experiment, Region Five, can look forward to beginning the construction of their homes within the coming months, in an area with serviced lots and basic amenities.
Hon. Collin Croal, Minister of Housing and Water, visited the area along with several other projects on Tuesday, where he inspected works being done.
Over $200 million has been budgeted for the execution of the project. The project is divided into four lots, with four contractors respectively. Minister Croal in his interaction with representatives of the contracting services, urged timeliness and quality, as he noted the importance of the development for the housing sector and eager Guyanese waiting to begin construction.
The scope of works includes land and drainage clearing, and the construction of access roads to bring it complete first stage development of the new scheme. At Lot 1, the scope of works has been adjusted for the inclusion of a main access bridge and secondary road, thereby providing residents with two points of entrance and exit.
Additionally, the housing scheme will be outfitted with water distribution networks and electricity poles, as the Ministry aims to provide residents with basic utilities to improve their livelihood.
Works in the new housing area are expected to be completed by November, 2021.
